Guys
I just checked my oil level this afternoon, i routinely do it once a week. Ive got a bit of substance that looks like mayo in my oil cap.
Does this mean my exhaust is blowing somewhere?
-
No, its expected in colder weather, esp with short journeys
-
How would.... .... No, and it's not head gasket, even if there is a coolant leak as well.
Don't worry about it, not an issue. ;)
-
I'm gonna stick my neck out, and say in this case, it IS headgasket failure ::)
-
It'll be spark plug no7, it's a bugger to find and a pig to replace.
-
Going by my pm box.... :-X

I suspect hearing it could be HG, the OP will want to sell it ::)
Then again, maybe he will suggest the failed HG is nothing more than short journeys and shite oil

Does it not mean your exhaust is blowing somewhere if you get a smear of mayo like substance in your oil cap? This is what I was told...

...it might be an issue on a Calibra? There are some real dodgy ones about... Aye Bill.

Nope, wrong tree again ;D

The 3.1 runs water based oil anyway due to the dry sump :y
