Title: Well it's not the cam sensor!!!!
Post by: Vamps on 16 December 2010, 20:37:10
Bloomin Head Gasket has gone, eventually started the car this morning and laid a 'vapour trail' the Red Arrows would have been proud...... :( :( :(

How can it be driving perfectly one minute and then suddenly fail?

Timing is great too, just before Christmas, could do without the extra expense... :'( :'( :'(

That's a real bum Mike :( The favourite place the 4 pots fail is the large waterway at the back of number 4 pot in to that pot.

not trying to sound dim ere, but does a blown H/G put the managment light on?

I fired up my workmates honda the day and it was puffin it out like a powerstations chimney, but the h/g aint gone on that, the cold can give a false impression of exhaust smoke.

I wouldnt give up just yet, get that code reader on it.

 :)

Deffo the head gasket, well almost certainly ::) Car over heat and no heat from the heater, radiator cold and considerable vapour trail.....
I was sat outside my mates garage by the time he came in this morning, took one glance and said head gasket. Don't know about eml light coming on but was missing, so perhaps another sensor picking up the problem, hydraulic locking when trying to start...

It will hydraulic on pot 4 as it'll be full of coolant. Check the head very carefully at the pot 4/waterway joint as poor coolant history eats away the metal between the two.

It was never running better than immediately before it happened as I arrived at the bottom of my drive and suddenly went lumpy, and had only been driving steady..... :( :(
