hi all
just been to a member of familys house and they have some full pedigree english bull terrier puppies. i was thinking about getting a new car but once i saw puppies i thought i've got to have one. suggested it to swmbo and she said its either a new car or puppie!!! so you can guess what i choose. puppy. new my mot is due on 20th jan and i know it;'s going to fail on emmisons. as it's burning oil. now i think it's stem seals. so if i have cam belt kit done new head set stem seals and new hg set how much do you think i'm looking at for it all doing bearing in mind it's a 4 pot not a v6.

To be honest.................................. Its really easy to do yourself both cambelt kit and head gasket and valve stem oil seals. You can do it in an weekend no probs. If you get the head gasket set it comes with all the gaskets and seals also replace the inlet and manifold gaskets as well and might be an idea to replace the manifold studs as well. Oh don't forget to replace the head bolts as well as they are stretch bolts.

Put the car in for it's MOT and if it's really expensive, sell the puppy and tell the missus it died :y

Bad choice. Your Vet. bills over the years will far exceed the cost of a new car. ;D

thats why i got him insured striaght away!

i did it the other way round got the puppy then had to convince the wife a bmw740 aint the ideal rotti transport lol and she went for it

You still get the vet bills!!
I pay £25/month to Petplan for Holly........i know i could get cheaper, but petplan is a superior insurance imo.....so rather pay more.
Plus she has an £80 excess on her.......and funny how the vet bills for minor ailments tend to come in at just under the £80 mark.
Plus theres the annual booster injection and worming tabs.
In fact that reminds me.......i think shes overdue her booster :-/
Better check with the Vet tomorrow.
I tend to think insurance is well worth it.........when she was a pup she badly bruised herself running into a tree stump in the dark.....that vet bill was nearly £400.......for xrays....and an overnight stay at the vets.
I just paid the excess.
Mate of mine has 2 greyhounds (dog and bitch) as pets, he doesnt race em. The silly bitch broke her leg......that cost him nearly 4k :o ......No he wasnt insured :(

25quid a month aint bad for petplan they charge me 32 for my rotti but its worth it for peace of mind.

Insurance is well worth it, even though I agree many ailments come in a less than the excess.
Insured our dog but not the cat, to be honest a rescue cat I always thought I would just get it put down if anything happened. Then it happened, last year major probs, guess run over. Standing there in the emergency vets on a Sunday , with SWMBO and 6 year old daughter giving me ‘THE LOOK’ the words ‘Put him down’ came out as ‘do what you have to do’ a few days later we got him back, the Vet oh well he relieved me of £380.00 Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:oSaw a lovely girl walking along the pavement the other day, long blonde hair nearly down to her waist, peachy little bum in tight jeans, gave a playfull toot as i drove past. She turned round, looked at me, smiled & had a face like a blind cobblers thumb. :(
I think that's called a "Golden Deciever"!!!!!!!! :D
