Does anyone know?
-
it was the one with all the options on.. in uk at least
-
Don't know myself.
Maybe as when it came out, Vauxhall were pitting it against such marquees as BMW, Merc, Audi. So wanted something sounding like the high end luxury in motoring.
As the Omega was meant to be an ideal car for the executive type of person reaching middle management. :-?.
This question should of ideally been placed in the General chat section.
If you ask admin, they may move it for you :y

Yes.
Why you offline now??

Regarding VX it`s for highest specification or class within the same range of car. Similar to people I suppose where the elite class would be considered the upper class of allegedly superior intellect and breeding. Something you no doubt would know sod all about

It was for people like me Bill, an Elitist of society who had £32,000 to spash out on a Vauxhall! ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

You mean you were / are the Dealer Principle of a Vauxhall main agent?
I sold new VX for two years. Besides the ones which we pre-reg'ed, (which were for the sales manager, business manager and DP), the only other Omega which I recall us selling was a 2.2 auto CD to some guy who had opted out of his company car scheme and was using his allowance to fund a vehicle of his choice.
I know this is likely to get me mega flamed on here, but at the time, in my opinion, based upon costs terms, the Omega really was struggling in terms of new car sales against competition from Mercedes and BMW, (the GMFV's just slaughtered it). Hell, even though the Rover 75 was a bit smaller, it offered better new value for money (IIRC).
Still, doesn't stop the Omega being a good car, and a hell of a used bargin.

My sentiment is that the Omega's list price was for 'show'. Most were probably sold as company cars where the leasing company got a huge discount. I believe Fords & Vauxhalls can be bought new at a significant discount ..... when traded in they appear to have huge depreciation .. but only measured against an artificial list price.
