Title: That Digital Display...
Post by: P6UL K on 26 December 2010, 22:56:49
On the dashboard, the one that displays the time?

Well apart from displaying the time and the date (but only when the radio is turned off!?)

What else is it meant to do?

The radio has the proper Autoleads PC99-X06 connecting it to the main loom but i don't have the use of the steering wheel controls either while i think of it or any display on that little screen (if its meant to do that?)

Would the Police have disconnected any wiring to this screen maybe?

I'm going to retro-fit cruise control soon, is the screen used for this too?

Cheers!

 :)

being Ex-Police it will have TID fitted, not MID (Multifunction Information Display)

Police had no toys like check computer (oil level/beam check/washer fluid ect)

Sadly your display is going to be quite basic, not a lot of point getting a display adaptor

What does a display adaptor do?

Are they expensive?

Display adaptors (£70+ depending on HU) put radio display in the Vx display, but I was assuming it already had one hence autoleads you mentioned?

Can't see why they put one of those leads in if there are no steering wheel controls?

i take it the radio is an aftermarket jobbie not a standard omega radio?

Yeah its a Sony HU, it has the correct Autolead and now it also has the new patch lead (£4.45) but is that all the Vx display is used for?

And yes there are steering wheel controls.
