Title: idle problem when cold

starts fine with bit of pedal, take foot off cuts out, have on for a min or 2 then fine what could it be checked for air leaks none that i found, idler is clean still, any one any ideas thanks.. :)

Air leaks are most common.  Clever use of squirts of carb cleaner around joints, listening to changes in engine speed, should give a good pointer.

Might have to lightly crack open the throttle (and I do mean lightly....) to overcome the cutting out issue but I would think its something actively to do with the idle air controller.   :y

I will check again in morning, and take the idler off and give it a better look thanks ;)

did what you said but no dif, is there any thing els that can make it do this???

Try it with MAF disconnected :y

If ok replace MAF.

no dif with maf off, put back on gave a rev on start then was fine, temp out side was 2.5... could it be the air temp sensor???

Pattern/generic or a named brand? I ask cos I put a cheap MAF (just the actual gubbins) on my TD Astra a few years ago & my EGR fault was cured .... for aout 6 months. A proper branded part id still working years later.  ;)
No idea about your idling problems though.

GM same part number as old one £90 at vauxhall autos. dose that help??

just had mate round and it would seam the air temp sensor has gone, telling ecu that its hot, so changed it and see how it gose tommorow, was saying air temp 20.5c, when out side temp saying 3.0c. see in morning what it dose.
