Title: towbar help

hi guys,I want to fit a towbar to my 2.2 auto to pull my caravan, not a problem....being an auto box will i have to fit an oil cooler   to prevent overheating or will it be fine as is. i had a renault 25 auto a few years back and it had one dont know if the megg has one or not.

I think you will be OK at least I'm sure the V6's have an Autobox fluid cooler located in the front radiator not sure about the 2.2 but would think perhaps a greater need in the 2.2 (engine and autobox will have to work a bit harder)

thought that,although its a 2.2 still a lot of car to pull as well as a caravan. not that i pull the van for any long distances,better safe than sorry dont want to end up with boiled atf

I find my 3.2 estate tugs our 18ft van with supreme ease, the self leveling rear suspension really comes into it's own when towing, and of course RWD makes for good towing traction. Best practice to do an autofluid change as described in the maintenance guide useing the correct grade and quality of fluid I do mine annually:y

my 2.2 auto did and it towed well but not a patch on the v6 i had before it mmmmm that towed amazing
