Post by: griff2494 on 02 January 2011, 19:03:17
hi there

heres a head gasket set on flea bay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-FRONTERA-B-OMEGA-2-2-16V-98-05-HEAD-GASKET-SET-/310119036943?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483488f80f

do you think this will be any good????
head bolts are extra

as you can see on the above link, the gasket its self seams to have a sealant on it (abit like the old rover ones) can you not get a multi layer one or is this normal on the omega ??

Composite ones on the Omega.

I would not bother with a kit, I normaly get the headgasket, stem seals and head bolts from Trecci (on ebay)

Then its:

Genuine exhaust and inlet gaskets
Reuse the cam seals
Genuine cam cover gaskets and sealer.
Genuine Front pipe to manifold gasket

i got mine from classic cars, think the head gasket was carbon fibre, with black stuff on it said not to use sealent on gasket.

It will have been composite with metal fire rings and a fine trace of red sealent around the edges.

You need the sealent for the cam caps (front) and another type for the cam cover
