Without making this to long here is my story.
A few months ago I had to change the oil cooler after it decided to expire. Since then (or very shortly afterwards) I have had a coolant leak. My first thought was that I hadn't got a good seal on the oil cooler cover or the coolant bridge wasn't sealed correctly. A strip down over the last couple of days revealed nothing obvious from the cover or bridge. I needed the engine running to produce the leak.
Today I have managed to pressure test it (@1.2bar) and although the leak is there under pressure I still can not find the source. All I can see is a drip from the block just below the exhaust manifold on the near side.
So far I have ruled out:
1)Oil Cooler cover
2)Coolant bridge
3)Pipes onto Coolant bridge
4)HBV
Anyone got any ideas where else to look?
Thanks for reading
Rich

Is it a 1998 3.0l?
If so, and its coming from the outside corner of the rear of the passenger block to head.... .....well, you know the rest :'(

The cars a 2000 3.0l one of the first face lift models.
The problem is I can't see where the leak is coming from. I can see it dripping off the block but it's coming from further up somewhere. every pipe connection I can get to appears dry. What else is there on the near side than can leak?
I'm not ruling out the HG but apart from mayo in the filler neck there doesn't seem to be any other contamination I can see.

There is a core plug in the head taht could weep. Coolant bridge or anything else in V could give similar leak location. Any pipework would have to 'squirt' over to it.
If its the HG problem that seems to affect a small proportion of 1998 3.0l, its simply a coolant leak from the waterways to outside, so no cross contamination. This seems to happen at the rear of the passenger bank (not sure why), and runs from the lowest poing of the gasket (outside corner).
