what seems to be my only real problem with my car (2003 2.6) is that i noticed yesterday it was low on oil and had a slightly rough idle, so i topped up this morning, and took it for a good run, was out in it for about 80 minutes, motorway and town (mpg still pretty good by the way :y)
on returning home, i noticed this:

its not losing water at all, but i suspect rocker cover gasket needs replacing?? (and plugs cleaning out!) how much for a new set??
could there be any other contributing factors to the (very slight) rough idle?
also, it barely reached 75c on the water temp until after about an hour when i sat in a car park with it running for a few minutes, and it went up to 90c (about right i think). When i drove away it eased its way slowly down to 80 on the last 15 minutes driving home, town speeds. is this normal, accounting for outside temp of 1c?
thanks in advance
(might have to sell anyway soon if swmbo wants to change career :()

Nothing to worry about here, your right that cam cover gasket needs changing the o-rings have failed (maybe been over-tightened?)
Plugs are cheap, about £1.50 each, worth a fresh set in...
Low temp, most likey is the stat is being lazy. Not an expensive job if you DIY, just fiddly.
As for idle, see what fresh plugs do and check for any small air leaks :y

need an opinion on quality if anyone knows, and also what other parts i need
found a site called vauxhall-car-parts.co.uk selling a cam cover gasket set, apparently a genuine new vauxhall part (or is this just one side?)
http://www.vauxhall-car-parts.co.uk/acatalog/VAUXHALL_CAM_COVER_GASKET_-_90511451N.html
do i need the inlet manifold gasket or the cam cover bolt seals? or both? and how many?!

Those are NOT genuine VX parts! Look closely & you will see a letter N after the part number. Go back to their webpage & click on the 'home' button, then read their parts description, it will reveal all! ;)
Only fit Genuine VX gaskets & 'o' rings or will be throwing good money after bad as they wont last! ::)

Get from dealer, see the item in the OOF shop (we don't have any in stock) for the part numbers.
Around £70 on TC - try member andyc if you don't have TC.
Absolutely MUST be genuine parts - and not Autovaux's definition of genuine either!!
Temp issue will be the stat, around £55 for the parts, plus allow £10 for coolant (use it as a good excuse to flush it)

post edited, already answered above!
