this came on the other day and wnt go away header tank is full annd car did not freeze during cold snap?

If you take the electrical plug off the expansion bottle and bridge the connections does the message go off then?
-
Check the float moves up and down freely.
If that doesn't cure it, then as said, bridge connections. If that cures it, buy a new washer bottle (£25+VAT trade from dealer).

It might simply be that the plug has come loose under the expansion bottle? Check that it is pushed fully home. :y

If the float is free to move up and down, it is possible to remove the sensor (reed switch) and repair the poor soldering, but if the switch itself is gone, not found a suitable replacement.
Its very difficult to remove the reed switch in one piece - its about 2" long, and must come out 100% striaght. Failure to keep it straight will snap the PCB.
