Hi gang this has most prob been asked before but i have a 2.2 2001 auto wont go into drive only drives though gears manually selected revs up and down when gears selected have had loads of people say its the cam sensors /ecu engine and gearbox and the bit on the side of gearbox held on with 10mm bolts but have changed this and still the same but dont want to go any further untill sure so any help would be greatful sorry if its been talked about before but stressng know lol

does it not select drive at all?

hi yes it selects all but when you put it in drive it goes in to 4th and stays there !! and revs up and down

i would have it checked for codes it does point to a cam sensor

thanks Mr Green ive booked it in for next week at the local garage was hoping to solve it before lol oh forgot to mention its had a cmplete rebuild of head ect after cam belt snapped if that helps ? blooming cars lol

Where are you GB? Maybe someone local to you has a code reader that could help out ;) :y

There are quite a few Kent members, hopefully one will be along who has a code reader :y
