Title: gearbox warning message
Post by: robg1984 on 05 January 2011, 16:01:11
hi all hope youve all had a good christmas and new year :) as im now gona bend your ears for advice!
the gearbox has been running fine if a little clunky off late so was surprised when i started the car up this morning and went to drive of and she went no where and the auto gearbox message came up on the mfd! its been on once before a few weeks back but cleared up when id switched engine off done shopping and started her back up so put it down to the cold! but now she wont move anywhere in drive but will work when cycling through the 1 2 3 gears. Im hoping that its just the oil needs topping up\ changing and its not time for a new box.
sorry about the long winded explaination and any thoughts\help will be greatfully appriciated

Hi Rob, did anything strange happen with the selector lights? I.E. all of them lighting when in drive? If not, I'd start by topping the gearbox fluid up with Dexron3 (or 6) :y
