I have a 2001 3.0 special estate. I bought it with the intention of fitting LPG, but im starting to think i should get rid and get something else. It has long MOT and a few months tax. It runs great, as ive just given it a full service with genuine GM parts and also fitted a genuine GM oil cooler with all new washers gaskets etc. Ive replaced the interior with a low mileage interiors from a breakers. But i have to accept that the car still looks a bit tatty.

How much do these break for?

being ex-police its going to have basic interior and no toys to sell, only valuable items would be gearbox/diff/HID lights, apart from that the rest of the car is going to be a bit worthless.

Its prob worth more with long MOT as a cheap runner

Sounds to me like you have a mechanically lovely vehicle, with a aesthetically not-so lovely car.

Given the world seems to be full of bloke Elites/high spec Omegas with bkown engines (probably idiots not doing the timing chain when due) I would have thought you could find the car of your dreams, albeit with a dead engine. Swap the good bits over, and at the end of it you've got a great big fat omega to weigh in, which will probably pay for the engine swap!

Please, by all means, ask the assemblage for a valuation but take care that it does not turn into a closet 'for sale' add, otherwise it will go the way of previous others of a similar nature.....   :y

As its a low spec model - without the toys -i would sell it complete in your position. Fleabay/autotrader etc. ;)

Really depends on which force it came from, service history / workshop print out, mileage now, number of owners since it retired and retirement mileage, colour, saloon or estate and general body and engine condition.

TBH, unless there low mileage, with good history, there not worth much these days unless good ones are brought up to near retail spec and even then may not realise the spent value.

I definitely wouldn't assume the diff if LSD. I have three ex-plod Omegas, none of which is LSD-equipped.
