Title: GLS Upgrade Queries
Post by: Fitzcarraldo on 05 January 2011, 21:57:49
I've bought and installed heated seat switches for my poverty spec GLS. They look a lot better than the blank switches and light up with the other switches. The only thing is they don't heat up the seats! There appears to be a wiring loom going to the seats for airbags, elec height adjustment etc.

Also, I've installed on a cruise stalk and clutch switch but the cruise control doesn't work.

My question is can both be activated by a Tech2 or is the wiring simply not there in the GLS?

Afaik the wiring isnt always there on GLS cars. If you get a Haynes book of balleeks it will have a wiring diagram and you could wire it yourself. :y

Ah, the Haynes book of lies! Strangely enough my GLS has electric rear windows, CD spec seats and alloys. Bit of a hodge podge! I've already had front fogs fitted and a Xenon headlight conversion. If I could get the cruise control working at least it would be great. I can always heat the seats myself  :P

Unless Im reading the post wrong and you are referring to your 2.2, GLS spec wont have heated seats and a DBW will need a chat with a tech 2 for cruise stalk fitting.

You're right Zirk. You've confirmed my suspicions. Thanks for the advice.
