hi all,
I'm getting a coolant level warning in the car, but the level in the expansion tank looks good. anything else I should be checking?
I can't see any kind of level sensor in the expansion tank???
thanks.

The float switch is hidden under a dome inside the expansion tank.
There is an electrical connector on the underside of the tank. Some people have reported the plug coming loose and giving a false reading.
If the float switch is at fault it cannot (easily) be separated from the tank so the quick fix is to buy a new expansion tank (about £35 new apparently)

great thanks. I'll have a look.

You can shut the message up by disconnecting the sensor and shorting the pins with a paperclip.
You can jab at the float with a pencil or sommat, may just be stuck.
Personally, new tank and jobs a good un :y

Ensure float is free to move - poor coolant servicing makes it all a bit scaley and sticky.
Though, as others suggest, last one I bought was £25+VAT trade...

im having the same issue with mine, ive being out and the float moves fine bust just be bust :( was that price for one from vauxhall?

There about £30 all in from dealers with a trade card. Not sure what retail price is?. Easy to get a trade card. and you will save a fortune over time. Just join Autobahnstormers.co.uk (cost £20 last year) but you can easy save that over the next couple of trips to VX

Last I bough (couple of years back) was £25 + VAT (trade).
