Title: squeaking from the rear!
Post by: jerry on 16 January 2011, 22:19:37
just noticed a squeaking noise , initially when I get in and out of the car. Thought at first it was something to do with the seat but when I push down on the boot above rear tyres it happens or push onto rear tyres themselves. Its more prominent on drivers o/s than on near side. The shocks seem ok and were only done 2 years ago anyway. Too dark to see much else at the moment and tbh wouldnt really know what I should be looking at. MOT is due mid feb, so hope it isnt too ominous  :-/.Anyone any ideas what it could be and what to get checked out?

Probably rear rubber mounts bushes or whatever they are called in english sorry.
If I'm correct it will be probably be less noticeable when the weather is packed with rain and moisture.

thanks for the responses chris/matt ,I tried it this morning and-bloody typical!-hardly any noise (due to VERY wet conditions if your right Matt ?), but with handbrake off I couldnt detect any noise at all. Anyhow, am getting it checked out tommorrow just in case.
