Title: No heat fromheater
Post by: Justanother Dave on 15 January 2011, 09:48:48
Hi Guys,
Had my MV6 a few days now, but only just noticed the heaters don't provide any heat at all.Is there anything I should be checking first?
The fans work, but the air coming through seems to be about the same as the outside temp. The coolant level is at max, the gauge sits in the middle (around 80).

Thanks in advance.

It may be the heater matrix, I'm having the same problem but mine looks like it's down to the head gasket as the car is over heating, I may be wrong see what other people say ok

The HBV has a small vac pipe that goes from the top of the HBV into the Bulkhead. If this is not on no heat will be in the cabin.

Clean out the Heater Matrix by pulling off the top and bottom pipes then running the garden hose through the top then the bottom until bothways the water is coming out nice and freely plus clean :y

Thought it was the other way round ???

Pipe off (and blocked to hold vac) gives max flow through matrix ??? ISTR thats what I did last winter when I had HBV sticking problems ...

Thanks for your help guys, I'll give that a go.

I just wish the pictures would load from the site so I could see the maintenance guides.

An update - I have just done the matrix flush as suggested, and kindly detailed in the maintenance section. Toasty warm car, thank you guys!
