Despite air conditioning system on auto, car steams up throughout in cold weather. Moisture being sucked in but from where? A latter day problem only. Vents appear clear and no external blockages apparent. Any body out there throw any light on this annoying and dangerous fault?

check pollen filter.... right hand side of the skuttle

Is the ac actually working? Has the ac gas leaked out?
-
Is the ac pump turning in auto mode above 5c?

mine was doing this, changed the pollen filter as it was black and cleaned out the two drainage holes in the scuttle panel, that seems to have fixed the problem

as your car is a facelift it should be fitted with a charcoal pollen filter which is already black ;) ;) ;)
You haven't been sold a white one for it have you?? :-/

Yeah I was given a white one by my local motor factors, they checked it on their system. I wasn't aware it used a charcoal one. Looks like I'll be paying them a visit tomorrow
