Maybe I missunderstood but opening my catera when I get locked out is a piece of cake. Just get a wire hangar straighten it out make a small loop on 1 end and slide it in towards the bottom of the drivers window. The lock on the cateras has ridges and is super simple to open. I've opened it in about 10-15 seconds a few times before.

Have you tried a folded strip of packing tape slipped through between the door and the seal?  You can slide it down and pull gently on one side to curve it towards the button, loop over then pull tight and upwards.

I know the button is slope sided but you may strike lucky.  Worth 20 minutes to save a quarterlight glass....

Or Cheese wire, or, about 6 strands of copper wire from mains cable tightly twisted together, get the wire over the button and work it back and forth horizontally untill it burns itself it the button before pulling it up.,

First priority is to stop the tinker running. Remove sporran and ram it up tailpipe. Then toss caber through winscreen and retrieve keys. Peice of piss :y

is there a way to open the catches on the seats from the boot?
If so...
Remove rear bumper, drill off rivets to the cupboard vent on rear drivers wing, twist the cupboard clips from the inside to open, and reach in with something long( coat hanger on a stick?) and pull the boot release.

Or pray the centre arm rest clip is loose so it can be pushed down.....?

How the hell does central locking activate on it's own  ::)

No that won't work, need boot open to remove bumper screws on boot lip.  :D

Yes its a bit strange that. A couple of weeks ago when it was very frosty, I wanted to leave the car running on the drive to warm up, but not wanting leave it unlocked, i tried to lock it using the spare remote fob. It wouldnt have it. just kept unlocking itself, did the same using the spare key in the lock.

for future reference when i swap my omega for carlton at my lock up,i always put one of the windows down fully while car is sitting on its own running, thinking this might happen one day! doesnt hurt to be preventative plus of course engines running with you locked out of it,ultimate nightmare!!

Yep. Likewise, that's what I always do, (for example when de-frosting the car in the morning).

Had it happen on an old Peugeot of mine. Engine running, shut door, car locked itself.

Mr brick, meet Mr window. That was a cold and wet drive to work that morning.

I'm glad you didnt use the caber. I was pissed when I suggested that method, and on reflection I dont think it would have been cost effective.

you can open the doors with a slim if its not double locked on a omega

can make one out of a cheap thin metal ruler or some of that metal packing case tape
