I've finally got fed up with my car sounding like a diesel when it first starts so I'm going to stick some wynns in.
Do I just add it then leave in, or should I add then change the oil after a while ? Due for next oil change in 900 miles , best to change oil then add the wynns or add it now and remove with the next oil change ?

ive used wyns a few times and never found it to be any good. Ive heard a capful of auto transmission fluid is good for lifters but ive never tried it. It think ud be best to change the oil every 500 miles or so and see if the problem dissapears.

Forget waiting 900 miles. Buy some cheaper 10W40 semi synth and change the oil and filter now, wait 300 miles and do it again, wait another 300 (when your service is due) and change it for genuine Vx oil and filter. See if that quietens it down :y

300 miles is only 1.5 days driving for me....I dont think I have the time. But I get the point, do a few short changes see what happens.
I've got the wynns now anyway so I'll just bung it in as well.
Not sure why its started annoying me now, its done this since I bought it at 70k miles and its not got any worse and its just passed 160k.

I believe wynns instructions on the tin say leave it I'n for the duration an oil change, if required.
... And that is what I did, rightly or wrongly, with good results.
IMO change the oil, add wynns, and leave it in until the next scheduled oil change.
Anyway, the instructions are clear enough so can check when purchased. It's good stuff IMO.

agreed,I haven't used it in the mig but have used it with good results on other vehicles

As Chris has said, I have gotten best results by oil change (around 4000 miles, GM semi synth) and add Wynns with new oil. After a couple of days it normally quietens the lifters.
