Post by: antz on 25 January 2011, 20:45:11
Hi guys,
Im new here and I have some up stuck with a problem on my Omega.

Ive got a 1999 Omeage 2.5 tdi auto and recently when driving, when the engine hits 2000rpm and the turbo spools up the transmission breaks drive and justs like hell.

Ive changed the fluid and the problem is exactly the same.

What can be causing this problem and how can it be fixed?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!  :)

You need to get it on a proper code reader to get the gearbox ECU fault codes. Where are you?

Im just outside Scarborough.

The dash isnt showing up any fault with the gearbox and the odd thing is I parked it up one day all fine, next day it was playing up and has done ever since!

The BMW engine was de tuned because of the chocolate gearbox Vauxhall decided to use. A gearbox from a 3.0 V6 (AR35) is the way to go and use the existing bell housing ;)

as Pete said get hold of an ar35 from a v6 swap bellhousing(carefully with box in upright postion) refit to car and chip it!!!!
at 110k engine is barely run in providing oil and filter service has been carried out on time, (max4.5k) between changes,
when chipped drop it to 3k changes the engine wil outlast the car metalwork :y

Is it not possible that it's the 3rd solenoid? Mine sometimmes did that 1, 2, nothing. Other days it would be fine, not driving it at the mo so I've no answer, I was wondering about swopping the valve box(or whatever it's called) from a spare box, as I don't know if I'm arsed changing the box. These cars are now worth nothing over here.

Cheers mate.
Thought Id best ask cos when I typed V6 into google I got a load of 2.5 v6 boxes and wasnt sure if they were the same or not.

Ill keep an eye out for someone breaking a omega 3.0 v6 or a decent box.
