A torque wrench/bar.
Most motor factors or even Halfords sell them.

Those Halfords ones are pretty good IMO. Calibrated to within 1% as well.
well worth spending a little extra on one of those as opposed to something cheaper, (and not as accurate).

Pactical Performance Car magazine did a product test in the last mag with the Norbar Tru Torque coming top and the Halfords professional coming second. :y

That's right I've had 2 Norbars for years 1 ranged from 30 to150nm and 1 from 8 to 54nm also have a Franklin 43 to 348nm mostly for suspension and wheelbearings

You dont use a torque wrench to tighten a wheel, you need a wheelbrace, or one of those extending bars :y

but if you want to tighten it to a specific torque (110 ftlb?) how are you going to do that with an extending wheel brace? ;) ;) ;)

two clicks of the elbow. ::) :y

You might not use a torque wrench, but it is good practice to use one and I always do. If I see a tyre depot not using a torque wrench they get crossed off my list of places to use.

which is generally how I do it, but Steve wanted to do it properly. :y :y :y
As long as you don't extend the brace when you tighten. :y :y

That depends whether they use it after they've tightened your nuts up (ooooer ::)) to zillion ftlb with their windy gun first. :-? :-? ;D ;D

yep, tis true. nowt worse on the hard shoulder on a rainy day trying to undo wheel nuts that tightened to the same spec as the forth bridge
