Thanks to being blessed with an impatient ten year old daughter I now have mid door trim that is bent beyond belief and wont straighten ( caused by rear door and front passenger door being openend simultaneously!!) Has anybody done this job and can give me an idea what the trim costs where to get it etc ...and of course is it a b******* to fit?? Cheers. S [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Hi, first off it is not entirly your daughters fault, the edge was probably beginning to lift anyway. It is a fairly straight forward job. On 94-99 models just carefully peel away the old one, it has got a steel backing so firmly but with care. Now you need to remove the old adhesive that is stuck to the door. some people use an old hair dryer to warm it and others use a solvent like petrol. Do not use thinners, or acetone or anything that will attack the paint.
To fit new one just remove backing paper, line clips and push home.
Oh yes it possible to warm the whole strip with a hairdryer to aid removal.
HTH
P.S. no idea of cost I am afraid.

I would have thought the cost of one new trim, was about the same as a set of second have (Ex OOF) Facelift trims. Just a thought. ::)
