My front multi-ram doesn't operate and I want to check a few things before I spend the day on it tomorrow.
With engine off should I be able to suck and blow through the vac pipe that goes to the front ram ie though the solenoid or should the solenoid block the flow.
Also Is checking the voltage supply as simple as +12v/ 0v switching.
I should add the multi-ram operates if I put a vacuum to it so its not seized or sticky
Thanks

The solenoid should open the outlet port to atmosphere when deactivated so assuming you're talking about the port that feeds the actuator, not the one that goes to the vacuum reservoir, I think it sounds normal.
They are just simple 12v solenoids. Nothing special. From memory, one side is fed 12v from the main engine relay and the other side is grounded by the ECU to activate.
You should get vacuum from the reservoir for a while after the engine is stopped. Remove the line that feeds the solenoid and put a vac gauge on it. You should get around 18 in.hg / 30-40kPa at idle and it should hold after stopping the engine. If the other multivalve works this is probably OK though.
Tech 2 can actuate the valves to test, but it could also be achieved by unplugging the valve and applying 12v.
