Title: Cutting out

Can anyone help..I have 2l omega 1998. intermitent cutting out, usually when hot. Also sounds like a turbine for the first 5 mins after starting from cold! Cheers

Loud Pump on start up is Secondary Air Injection pump, its not actually needed, its just there to lower emission when stone cold. It can be unplugged (its behind front bumper)

Can you do a paperclip test? Get the codes and post them up here, details on how to do it in the maintenance section  :y

I haven't done the paperclip test but it has been put on the reader at the garage with no fault reading! Thanks for the info ref the aircraft noise.

clean idle control valve and iacv jet theres a good how to in the maintaince  section  ;)

There's no suction on the small breather hose, looks completely gunged up. Maybe we've found the problem!!

Thats a breather hose, that blockage would cause cam cover gasket to fail, but not cutting how.

Get some carb cleaner and give the ICV a good clean  :y

Not necessarily true. Even with a brand new IACV, ours cut out occasionally until Grumpy wrote his guide, and I cleaned out that breather jet.
