Just out of interest ... how do know when your timing chain needs replacing & what was your mileage?
-
the timing chain started to rattle at tickover then about a week later the chain jumped as i was starting the car up it sounded like a bag of hammers lost power and loads of blue smoke came out of the exhaust it has 151000 miles on the clock :'(

If it's serviced regular then chains should do you a life time my tractor is 183k on the clock but ive changed the oil every 2000-3000 miles for the 2 years ive owned it.
Others will agree oil changes must be done 3500m MAX :y
