Title: Someone smashed my mirror - grrrr
Post by: V8S on 21 January 2008, 22:54:33
I got back to my car this evening after work and found some son of a female canine has smacked into my mirror and broken it. The painted surround has had the securing tabs broken off in the impact, the black plastic inner bit is missing and the bit underneath also has tabs broken. So they won't fit back and stay there.

Luckily the mirror itself is present and correct, as is the main assembly with the motors. I have not yet checked the electrical function of it (thanks to the continuing British weather) but will do so tomorrow.

The search function on here is exceedingly lame, and not working at the moment anyway, so I couldn't check for previous answers.

So what I need to know is where do you get a Nautilus Blue (69L) mirror surround from, if it is indeed possible to buy without the whole assembly? I have the paint code from the front of the service book but looking it up it could also be for a burgundy, and Nautilus Blue has been attributed another code 14L. Confused!

I will check under the bonnet when it's not piddling down for confirmation.

Any help very much appreciated.

Check the for sale section.  Quite a number of cars being broken in there by several folks.  You may just get lucky.

Will move to genchat to perhaps get a bigger response.....
