Title: tappet noise

hi all is there any other stuff to buy instead of hydralic lifter treatment as i have noisey tappets i changed the oil aswell any ideas :y

Wynns hydraulic lifter, can help. But nothing beats fresh 10/40, try 4 changes 500 miles apart  :y

May seem strange, but also try filling up with Esso unleaded!

It worked, and still does, on my engine 8-) 8-) 8-)

Try it, load up with a full tank of ESSO.  What have you to lose? :D :D ;)

Everyone I am sure things that woman is off her trolley to think a change of petrol can help!! ::) ::) ::)   But it really has, I swear! 8-) 8-) 8-) :D :D :D ;)

I had the emissions or EML light on and the code indicated a knock sensor failure. After looking into the fault I visited a friend at Vauxcare and he asked me if I put Tesco fuel in and to bang a tank of Esso in.

I did and the light went out. The engine was noticeably less rattly too  :y :y

No Aaron, Sainsbury's the best one, although they do not sell the ESSO unleaded I need!! ::) ::) :D :D :D :D ;)

Anyway, back to the thread topic directly ;)

It always amazes me how the OP ask questions in this section, one of us answers, but then there is no acknowledgement of the help being offered in the written word! 

Recently I have seen a member complaining how their "General Help" question received no response.  This thread is an example of why!! ::) ::) ::) ::)
