I've seen an estate on ebay that isn't an Elite but has got self leveling suspension.
The question is will it be able to get transfered to my 96 cdx estate and how difficult is it to do?

The physical bits might be easy enough to transfer. Rear shockers, rear suspension level sensor and front pump (fits under front wing) Oh and all the air pipe work and clips.
You would need the loom to accomodate the pump and the rear sensor. Would the connections be there? I have two 97 cars with self levelling and the pre mini facelift has a different loom connection than the mfl amazingly to compound matters.
I would say it would be a load of effort for not much gain. What are you hoping to achieve by such a change?

I tow a caravan and can't afford an elite with it on,the car on ebay is at £99 at the moment

do it the easy way then? on mine i fitted self leveling shocks on the rear, ran the pies up into the boot area inside one of the cubbyholes on the nearside then joined the two pipes to a gauge with a schraeder valve, so now when the car has a heavy load i simply pump the shocks up to the desired height, with no load on the car the irmscher rear springs give me better handling?
takes max an hour to do it this way? agreed its a little more hassle, to set the ride height but its easy enough to do even with a footpump you can adjust the height!!! :y
