Battery flat with red security/management light on dash gone out on 1996 2.5V6 auto petrol saloon. Nobody can open door with key suggesting smashing a window to gain entry and pop bonnet and recharge battery. Boot opens but cannot gain entry to cabin due to rear seat/arm console locks unaccessible from boot. Any ideas?

It will almost certainly unlock if you apply enough force while turning the key in the lock. If it feels as though the key is on the point of snapping, that should be about right. :y

You can either use 'force' to drop the ski flap so you can put your arm through to drop the seat or it is possible to manipulate the latch for a seat back using a long slim screw driver.
Or ............ remove the boot light & apply 12 volts to the loom there, then use the key as usual.
Or .................. as Albs says, the key WILL open the driver's door lock. You just need to be forceful. The button doesn't necessarily pop up though.

as turning the key try opening door aswell with the handle as quote says button doesnt always come up and trying handle as you force key seems to make it easier :y

can you not connect the battery charger / jump leads to the starter motor feed from underneath, and charge the battery?
I don't know whether it's possible on a mig, but I've done it on a transit.

hi there the easiet way to gain entry is to open boot climb in push with force the centre armrest and put your arm in tp pull one of the back seats down then climb in to open bonnet this is the safest way to gain entry as the doors have deadlocks so you do not want to snap your key i have gain entry this numerous times it works with no hassles
