Title: Omega Elite 3.0 Rear brake drum noise !

Hi! Clattering noise developed from(I think!)rear brake drum.   Never removed one before,is it difficult?   Thanks.

Sounds like the linning has broken away  from the hand brake shoes or possibly 1 of the scuring pins has broken or rusted through.

Guide gives good description of how to deal with,but would expect the inside of the disc/drum to require some cleaning or possibly replacing if broken bits are flying around inside.

Had the same rattling from the rear. I knew it was the handbrake shoes breaking up so went straight to the garage which was lucky as the handbrake failed as I pulled up outside.

When they got it all apart the shoes and assembly were in pieces.
