put seats down in the back today as i took some stuff to the tip,got home and cannot get the nearside seat to lock in,the plastic locking thingy on back of seat seems to not work,is it spring loaded ? is there an easy way to dismantle it without taking seat upulstory(cant spell it) off..thanks phil

Give em a good whack with the palm of your hand when you put them back in the upright position. You should see the button pop back up, mind were a little stiff.
Don't trap the seat belt in there though, it's a pain to release it and could damage it.

thanks mick,tried it,it didnt work ... :'(hurt like hell as currently off work with a broken hand..

I managed to unclip the material in the corner and get in to oil it and get the button to return.
Be warned the middle seat belt is locked until this is sorted.

Tell me about it!! I trapped the seatbelt in the n/s seat and it completely jammed up the release mechanism and I couldn't put the rear seats down for months. MDTM finally freed it at one of the OOF meets but couldn't fix it properly. Jammed up again shortly after and I end up having to hacksaw through the locking mechanism at the base of the n/s seat - a real pain in the arse! :(
