hi everyone,
Been without a mig now for a while thats why I have not been posting.but am possibly getting another tomorrow,
Question is ... it is advertised as a 3.0 auto Elite MV6 on a W plate.
Could anyone here confirm there was such a model.Can't seem to find any listings for it.
The seller seems sure that is the model.

An Elite is an Elite and a MV6 is a MV6 two completely separate models. :y :y :y
The V5 shows the model.

Just to confirm an MV6 Elite, would be like an XR3i Ghia - cant be both, must be one or the other. ;) :D

In fairness I don't think you are correct.
I've heard from several sources, including senior members of OOF, that early on during the change in shape to the facelift Vauxhall/Opel, made some sort of balls up.
I have an early facelift Elite and it sits exactly the same as a MV6 of the same year. A friend had the MV6 to directly compare.
My Elite has also got a harder ride than normal Elites, which initially was a bummer as I got her because of the Elite comfort BUT she handles better...very much like a previous Vectra SRi I owned.
Further "proof" was the story that upon realising the manufacturing error the DVLA were contacted by VX who insisted that the "Elite's" in question must be registered as the "Sports" (MV6) model for insurance purposes.
I have spoken to the DVLA who have confirmed that mine is registered as a MV6 for that very reason, despite the fact that it is clearly an Elite. Equally, my insurance company had to write to the DVLA also to confirm, they wouldn't believe me basically.
So ! Apart from the harder ride and the fact that she sits lower like the MV6 I'm not sure what else went "wrong" or went amiss at manufacturing stage or what effect it has had.
The curious thing is though that she was originally STILL fitted with the rear air suspension.

Shopping in ASDA's yesterday, I saw a 51 plate 2.2 saloon. Its model said "sport"?
Never seen or heard of one before. It had leather sports seats up front, bit like mv6.

yes they did a 2.2 'mv6' which is called the sport, think it has everything an mv6 has with the possible exception of HID lighting.

Worth also checking its not ex plod, I remember a few years back going to look at an so called Retail spec MV6, it was the usual plod GLS spec but had Elite on the V5.

Sports pack for Elite provides a LSC setup. But its still an Elite. It is not an MV6

Mine, as you know is clearly an Elite, although it's registered as an MV6.

just got backfrom picking up the new miggy Elite/MV6 ! :-/ :-/ :-/
confusion abounds on this one. When insuring it today , giving the reg. no to the insurers they said from their database the model is known as :2000 Vauxhall omega 3.0i elite MV6 :o :o :o
states just MV6 on V5 though :D :D :D
drives a lot taughter suspension wise than my previous early '99 mini facelift 3.0 elite & has a lovely rasping exhaust note when booted a bit.
full grey leather seats & NCDC 2013 CD /radio.& most of the toys I remember in the old '99 car. you may still be able to view it on e bay with this item number. 22744136508
I'll be out there early tomorrow soting out one or two minor niggles& the little dig on the rear bumper but am very pleased with my new buy.

Mine, as you know is clearly an Elite, although it's registered as an MV6.
"Lowered Sport Chassis," I believe.

That would explain why they are registered as MV6's.
As mentioned, originally I was a bit disappointed with the ride having come from a 98 CD model but I'm used to it now.....she drives very much like a Vectra Sri I once owned.....except with more power, a lot bigger and as I found out on Thursday night on an open, very quiet stretch of the A14.... a great deal safer and stable at speed. At less than 10mpg didn't keep that up for more than a mile though.. ;) :o ::)
