Title: 2.2dti oil pressure sensor
Post by: Rich on 26 February 2011, 15:14:22
Hi
Can any one tell me where the oil pressure sensor is on a diesel 2.2dti.
The rfeason i ask is at idle the oil pressure light some times comes on on the dash. I want to check if the sensors faulty.
Thanks Rich

I seem to recall an issue with the DTi regarding oil fill levels, if you fill to the top of the dipstick markings after an oil change it will drop to halfway down after a run and cooling down. Might be worth a check.

oil level has nothing to do with the oil pressure light .. unless it's due to loss of suction when cornering.  :-?

SWMBO's car had the same as your's, when driving the light was off, but flickered at idle. That fault was due to a load of stray silicone instant gasket in  the oil pick up pipe. All was well when cleared out.

but I don't know where the sensor is.  :-/ :-/
