I read somewhere that when bleeding the brakes you must have Tech 2 attached so that it could modulate the ABS sysytem, avoiding spongey brakes. Is this correct, or can you just do it the conventional way? What is the sequence for bleeding, i.e N/S/R first etc..?

you don't need tech2 plugged in, just bleed in the normal way :y

If you are just bleeding the brakes and not changing the fluid, whilst your at it it's not a bad idea to clamp off the flexi hoses and push back the caliper pistons when the bleed screw is open to remove the old fluid from the calipers as this fluid is exposed to the highest temperatures in the system. Make sure you have enough fluid at hand to replace it when bleeding.

You only need to activate the ABS pump IF air is already in the ABS system, so bleed as normal, unless you have problems already?
make sure the header tank doesnt run dry, else you will need it doing.

start with the furthest away wheel from the top up pot and work your way forward

Actually, I need to replace all the fluid as it looks terribly dark and I don't know the last time it was changed. So is the procedure for replacing all the fluid the same?

dont you have to pressure bleed these brakes. ::)
