may answer my own question , as there has been a flush of my coolent system by previus owner im guessing that heater matrix is bunged up as rad is clear and eng temp is spot on , what kind of flush would you guys rekomend or should i just fit new heater matrix, and i hope its not as hard to do as a range rover .

I would try flushing it through in both directions first, disconnect pipes as they enter bulkhead and use a hose pipe. Did this on mime with similar issue and it worked a treat, there is a guide in the maintainance section I think. When you refill make sure that you get rid of airlocks by 'burping' the system. :y

I don't know what it's like on a Range Rover, but I wouldn't dream of changing a heater matrix on an Omega before trying just about any chemical flush imaginable.
A leak from the matrix itself is the only reason I'd ever consider changing one.
The proper way to do it is taking out the entire dash.
The cheat way is to cut away the backing from the trim in a small area on the LHS of the drivers footwell.
Even the cheat way is a horrible job.
Try mains-pressure hosepipe treatment first, it may be enough! Guide in the Maintenance Guides area.

well there you go flush it is ,plus some sort of additive, as to a classic rangie took me two days without a manuel garages charge in eccess of £900 to do, another complete dash out job.
ps without having a haynes manuel what is the ratio on coolent 50-50 and is she blue-green or red
