Title: air leak
Post by: 3.2 paisley wagon on 28 February 2011, 20:12:20
on the plenum you have the breather part  where the four breather pipes attatch. I have noticed a hissing noise comming from under the black part marked eco tech.  Whats under there and is there any serviceable parts ie orings etc.

Right in the "middle" of the long part is a fancy shaped o-ring type thing ... has a bar across the middle as well. On the part that drops into the larghish hole... If not replaced when the black part is taken off they have a tendency to go brittle and break .. :(

Easily got from the dealers. If you've not taken it off before, the black bit with "Ecotec " on it unclips from along the sides, do NOT force it or you will break the bit underneath. Once unclipped you will see the screws that hold the main part on.

Thanks chaps.  I take it if this is leaking air it will be the cause of not just the hissing but the slight rough idle?
