Title: Steering noise
Post by: megaomega123 on 03 March 2011, 16:58:22
I have just had track rod ends and inners changed and tracking done.
I have had noise from steering which is getting worse. I thought it was TRE's but the change has made no difference.
The noise comes from the passenger footwell and is a low pitched squeak, like a groan under strain. I was thinking top mounts but the noise is definitely passenger footwell. What parts should I be looking at? The bloke that did TRE's sprayed some lubricant in the boots which I presume are at the end of the rack, it has made no difference.
TIA

Forgot to mention that steering is normal apart from noise.

Just been having a read and maybe suspect the steering idler. Can anybody concur with this theory from experience?

I am aware of this, I am more trying to confirm if the idler would make the kind of noise I am experiencing  :y
