Title: Stalling when idling
Post by: kirriemuir on 07 March 2011, 09:27:28
Hi. My 1998 Omega 2.5 CDX has started stalling when in traffic or sometimes when stopped at traffic lights. I have taken it to two garages and they have told me that as there are no error code errors coming up on their diagnostic machines :( they can't help. The other problem is that my MPG has gone down from 27 to 19. Can anyone helpme please.

I would start by cleaning out the idle control valve, then the breathers, and a good service, and see how it goes from there

As well as the above, try running it to check stalling/mpg with the MAF disconnected.  If that improves it change MAF.

Smells like an airleak to me.....when cleaning the breathers check them and the vac feed to the servo for splits/damage/leaks
