Hmmmm me thinks that when you do start it you'll discover something slightly more than alternator / battery terminal fault.

'Sold as seen mate, bid to buy mate, don't nooo nuffin bout the cambelt failure, must've just don that when ya started it'

could it be that it probably has a major fault, so he covers himself for this by advertising as spares or repair so the buyer has no reason for argument, and advertises minor fault to encourage buyers to bid more cos they think its a cheap fix?

Don't know, looks alright to me. Shame about the miles and little dent under NSR light cluster.

Why not go and see it. That way you'll know a bit more. Does the odometer look like it's got a thumbprint on though!?! lol! Presuming it hasn't got leather.

Yes I assumed more problems would come to light. But, just in case, I thought the great and the good on here would be interested if someone's a dab hand at fixing such stuff if it IS only the alternator or simple fix.

He does say it will drive and has no other faults so if I were interested I would turn up with a set of jump leads and, if it didn't start and drive, tell him where to shove it.

Don't get a nice feeling about this TBH.  Odometer does look like it sports a thumbprint and the figures do not line up.  Not only thins, but the centre console seems very dirty.  Car just does not look cared for.
