just been told coil pack on my 2.5v6 auto has had it, which was causing it to miss. they quoted £165 plus vat.. opps that. ordered the same part as on there already..£82 bosch part..is that an ok part make etc..anyone know...since gettin the car in nov 2010 had to do rocker gaskets then oil cooler, now coil park.. anyone know what will be next. 2.5v6 auto estate petrol 2000 on an x reg..ps i love this car

Next...who knows, depends what's been done recently. Crank sensor, wishbones, driver's door checkstrap, rocker gaskets again if non-genuine parts were used or the breather system wasn't cleaned out... :D
Looking on the bright side, as far as I know the Bosch DIS should be OK. :)

Neglected my OOFer's duty earlier...
...Are you 100% confident/trusting of the diagnosis of failed dispack?
Could the sparkplugs be the problem, or the HT leads?
Presumably the plugwells were full of oil, prompting the camcover gasket change; that may have damaged a/some lead(s) and/or caused tracking on the insulators of the plugs. Rule out these things if you haven't already before anything else. :y

thanks for advice. garage i hope i can trust.. they had the car for 3 days, checked and thought it was ht lead to start with.. they after checkin said it was coil pack... glad i got it at £86 including postage they were getting one at £164 not including vat.. its good having you guys to get advice off.. thanks very much.. ps i changed airflow sensor myself... clever me

always good to have a go yourself and with bits your not sure about theres plenty of good people on here to help
