Title: Omega B FL types of automatic gearboxes
Post by: olzz on 26 February 2011, 20:40:19
Hey!

Please help with info regarding the models of GM automatic gearboxes for Omega.
Do be specific then which models have GM 5L40E gearboxes?

This gearbox is used for Omegas, Cadillacs and BMW-s over time- but which engine and manufacturing year?

Just looking an replacement for my 2001 Omega sedan.

Thank's in advance,
Olzz

AR25 or AR35 for a 2001 depends on what engine your running?

The 5 speed auto was never ever an option in the the UK.  :(
Can I guess that you're car is an Opel?  :-/

I don't think any of the cars sold here in the UK had the 5L40E. I think the AR25 and AR35 are variations of the 4L30E.

There was a thread on here a while ago about an Opel fitted with the 5L40E.

What Country are you in?

This thread Questions about 5-speed-auto Y25DT OPEL omega (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1295214909/12#12) discussed the 5L40E in an Opel.

Towards the end are links that refer to its use in BMW and Cadillac

Thanks for the info.

So far it is confirmed that 5L40E gearboxes were installed only 2,5TD Opel Omega engines.

So case closed.
