Hello I'm looking for a new engine for my omega 2ltr diesel what code am I looking for so I know I'm getting the right engine for my car and where do I look for this code. Thanks
-
2.2 or 2.5
-
I think what the above post means is can you confirm your engine, as far as I know there is no Omega 2.0 Diesel engine (only 2.2 and 2.5)
There is a 2.0 Petrol though....
for the code reading procedure, check the link in my signature / the index at the top of the maint guides section

Or what to look for when looking for an engine, so when I put an engine in it will just fire up.
-
strange, can you send me your reg no, and i'll look up what it left the factory with
-
Ahhhhhaaaaa.
got the reg, but cannot look it up as it is an OPEL not a Vauxhall,
guess this is an import? actually what country are you in?
Looking at the OPEL section of EPC there is indeed a 2.0 Diesel.
X20DTH.
Not common round here though sorry, so you may struggle for advice.

Hi Jim I live in county durham. Could I put an Y22DTH engine in without any problems. Thanks
-
Hello Could I put an Y20DTH engine in my car and will the ECU fit in my ecu plug fittings.
-
Is your car a pre-facelift? There are a few (very few!) with the 2.0 Diesel, the 2.2 is fitted to the facelifts.

It is an Opel Omega 2.0 Dti Elegance W Reg yr 2000
