Thought they were GPS based now, using inbuilt database of known cameras. Didn't active detectors get outlawed?
-
The active detectors are a bit of a grey area....as they are recievers then officialy you might need to be licensed to operate them.....never seen anybody get done for having them though.....
If they are GPS based (which i doubt) then you might as well put the cash towards a satnav that supports POI....

...or get a Talex.....

According to the manual it will pick up SPECS type and even tell you which camera you are approching in the series of cameras......or are you saying theres different type of SPECS? :-/
It doesnt do radar....unless you have an extra ariel added
What i like about it is the fixed cameras.....it uses GPS for this and doesnt bother to warn you if you are travelling in the opposite direction......my TOMTOM510 goes off even if the camera is on the other side of the road.
It does do laser but I agree about the laser.....prob too late..... :(

It is GPS based.
The S4 has been discontinued, hence the cheap price.
