hi i have just brought a omega 2.6 estate on a 51 plate,it is badged cdx but on the log book it is a gls.any one know the reason for this?.what is the differrence, many thanks.
-
does it have front fog lights, cruise control, electric rear windows, auto dimming rear view mirror ect?
-
cdx will have a 4 disc changer with tape, sunroof, rear electric windows as well as front, heated front seats, front fogs, xenons (i think) along with headlight washers
GLS will have none of the above
check other details on the V5 just to be sure, inc chassis number and engine codes
-
it has all the above
-
the owners book says cdx but the log book says gls ?
-
sounds like a wrong un to me.id be checking the vin tag, engine number and the vin stamped on the floor next to the drivers seat cos it dont sound right to me
-
many thanks for the answers,i will check the details when i get the log book.

Did you check it? :-/ :-/
don't think VIN no details are on that link ,but it should tell you what model is registered to that reg. plate ( GLS, CD, CDX, Elite etc.)
If comes up GLS could just be a mistake from DVLA hopefully :-/ :-/ :-/
As said by other Offers - you need to check VIN no's & engine No. when you get logbook :y :y
-
thanks for the link, did a check it came back as a gls ?has did my insurance company. checked the owners book with all the vin and engine numbers and its got it has a cdx,ime baffled.it has all the extras of the cdx.

Good site that RobG it says my car is worth £1400 hahahaha ill take that anyday
-
webuyany.com said another friend of mins 2.2 cd was worth £50, that site says £1400 too!
-
According to 'freecarcheck' l'm driving a vectra elite lol
-
I would'nt worry too much about the DVLA describing your CDX car as a GLS provided the VIN numbers match correctly. They frequently make these kind of typo's. I had a BMW R100RT motorcycle that was described as being steam powered :o
Just make sure the VIN number is correct.

Oh that's gotta be the best one yet....... was your insurance cheaper because it only did 1.5mph? ;D ;D ;D
-
Might be a good idea to get it changed on the log book, knowing how insurance companies work they will do anything to get out of paying up in the event of a claim, at least make sure they know its really a CDX

checked with dvla, vauxhall head office, vin numbers match, hpi check was fine.all says its a gsl,it was a bt directers car at first so they said bt must of up graded it to a cdx without telling them, dvla told me to change the badges to gls.never mind ive got a hybrid car
-
I have seen this myself a couple of times, DVLA do make mistakes and will change it if you write a letter to them, so I believe :y
-
thanks for that but i think i will leave it as it is for now,i just needed to know,so long as its legal and runs well which it does, thanks for all the help.

I owned a red Sierra about 15 years ago. I got pulled by the police early one Sunday morning because he'd done a check on my car and it came up as black from the DVLA. He checked it over and it was obvious that it had never been resprayed so he simply shrugged and said this sometimes happens.
When I got home, I checked my V5 and, sure enough, it was registered as black. I never did get it altered...
Jim.
