So it's the hose on the right, that's on the left!!!? lol

even after reorganising it, its still doesnt make sense lol

the hose to left that attaches to the black round this is the air feed...
Nice and simple, and nothing to do with the radiator.
the hose to the right however, is more likely a rad hose.

you will have to pick

Why do you need to know what it does? If it has burst, it needs replacing. I don't get it.  ::)

Based on the somewhat scant description it could be one of the SAI pipe hoses.

If it is then  - then these only carry cold air for about 30secs after a cold start - but will make the engine sound really rough.

If its making the big noise then just cover the spilt with your hand and it should get a lot better. A very temp repair can be done with insulating tape until you get a new hose one from Vx. The hoses usually fail at the visible top bit - right on the bend - so spotting a leak should be easy enough.

Hope this all makes sense and that my grammar, diction & punctuation & spelling meet OOF guidlines.

Thanks - Rob

Sounds like the SAI hose. Will sound like a blowing exhaust. Duct tape temp fix , new hose isnt expensive from Vauxhall ( or wasnt when I had to get one a few years back).

I thought it was one of the coolant hoses... Perhaps to the secondary (electric) coolant pump?

A picture would solve this straight away :y :y

Is the car making a noise? put your hand over the pipe and see if it goes nice and quiet. Air is inside this pipe not water.
It sounds to me asthough your talking about the pipe that goes down to the SAI Pump under the front of the passenger wing. A new pipe is around £10 from Vauxhall if its the one I think you mean.

Is this the one?
