Title: Oil Filter
Post by: twiglet on 07 April 2011, 21:32:10
Excuse me for being stupid, I'm either having a blonde moment or the Stella is kicking in...

Is the oil filter on a 3.2 a canister type, or the stupid sort with just the element that has to be changed?

I've changed it before but can't remember... I'm getting a parts order together and I can't be bothered to go outside in the dark and look...

Mines the type with a replaceable paper element ... unscrew the cap, replace the element, screw the cap back on ...   with a very low set torque wrench   :)

Thanks Nigel... is this part no. 9192426 as listed on trade club, for £3.23?

Anyone know exactly what it should be torqued to?

Thats the page I'm looking at on the trade club website Andy.

I just need to know if the one listed for the 2.6/3.2 is for the element or canister type?

I can't see that it could be anything other than the element if the 3.2 was originally fitted with one.

As Kev said its the paper elephant, but just change it to the canister type and have done with it... Less agro and a 15min job.

Canister and double ended thread shaft thing are: 90412159 & 93156954

Nowt wrong with the paper element type other than the housing being over tightened.

Until you can't get it off and it shatters.

For the sake of £5, I'd save myself any future grief.
