Me again guys!! Just a really quick one...Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on a piece of flexi for my exhaust....I think I need 4" length and 2" diameter....The existing flexi has a slight blow but the CAT seems fine so I'm going to try and repair just the flexi section first and take it from their....
Ideally looking to pick it up tomorrow so if anyone know's of a place within say 45 mins - 1 hour of Bolton I would greatly appreciate it...

I believe the flexi section is available from VX. ;)

Nah not the flexi on its own, I used to get them from CamSkill, but can't find it anymore.
You want something like this, but had a feeling 100 was too long....

Vx will sell you it, but with downpipe and cat attached I should imagine, for big $$$. Officially the flexi cannot be replaced, it has to be cut out!

Can't remember the name of the place in Clitheroe but i think they do custom exhausts and stuff like that. As Tunnie says vauxhall will quote you for it about 200+ IIRC, old part needs chopping out and new one welding in :y
-
Yeah, I was going to take my grinder to the old one and weld a new piece in....Just need to get hold of a piece first?!?! Get the impression its just a rip so you have to replace a CAT that is in otherwise perfect working order....
Found this place in Clitheroe....Guess this must be them as they note they are the only ones in Clitheroe!!

Try fleabay mate they do them on there too :y

Might be worth a call to some of the local factors like GE or General Traffic, may save yourself a journey.
-
Thanks guys i'll get onto it in the morning and let you know how I get on!!
-
Right guys....Managed to get a piece of flexi early this morning from Latham Motorcare in Burscough...Also got myself a section of pipe at the same time...Given the position of the flexi on my 2.2i I am going to cut out the old perished piece...Weld a piece of pipe onto the ends of the new flexi and slot them in to the old pipes etc....I'll then weld it up all round and hopefully be sorted....Total cost for the pipe and flexi £15!!

tis a cheap job, its worth mentioning don't make the replacement flexi too long, as any more than factory standard will push the off side rear silencer of the exhaust into the car subframe, and cause a rattle due to the movement of the zorst :y

Very sound advice Tunnie, i've got the t-shirt on that one. I had to gently use a jack to move a small rod / bar that sits at the back of the exhaust and is welded to the car body, whilst ensuring it didn't snap.
