Post by: OMEEEGAH on 17 April 2011, 22:35:08
Ello, will a omega spec recaro leather pair of front chairs fit a elite model 2003.
are the door cards greatly differant between a leather recaro interior and a cloth elite spec interior.

i have made my mind up i want  RECARO leather trim but i can't be bothered with stuff not fitting correct,i just want to bung it in job done,oh and lastly does a recaro leather trim have electric back chairs and are the lot heated front and back or jsut front or neither  :-?

But if I asked you for a Biro & there was only a Bic on the table, you'd know what I meant. he's after Recaro type bucket seats. ie MV6 seat.

Was not sure TBH as somtimes people mix up "Recaro" the make with sports seats. As you know, the wrong seat in the car can cause problems with pre-tensioners, side airbags and insurance. Unless you really understand this it's best to leave well alone. Just thinking about the safety aspects really ........  :-X

I think the simplest answer is to only fit seats from a facelift to another facelift due to the variable heating adjustment on them.

I know certain combinations can work with tweaking but seems like a lot of messing about to me.

MV6 (Recaro Leather) into an Elite is simply plug and play, Elite to any other model requires soldering ;)

Would the Recaro seats from a Mondeo ST220 (Heated and electrically adjustable) fit into an Omega?
I am guessing that the Omega MV6 seats being made by Recaro, means they must have been put into other makes and models (just like Recaro do these days with the Audi Recaro sports seats).

iirc, it would NOT be advisable to fit pre-facelift seats into a facelift.

Firstly, as you pointed out, it doesn't have side airbags and would not have active headrests either (please correct me if I'm wrong). In which case he would be seriously undermining ALL the safety features he has now and no doubt his insurance company would be having serious words with him  :-X

I'm old enough AND ugly enough to understand the 'system' and how it all works, so i'm extremely offended that you 'assume' that my insurance company hasn't been notified!!!  ::) I pay my premiums so i may do what i want to my car.

P6AUL K,
I wasn't "assuming" anything, especially on the point of you not informing your insurance company etc etc. After I posted, I realised I actually meant to have written the word "you" instead of "he". I was trying to make sure that op didn't undermine his safety elements in his car!
There was no intention of personal attack and if that is how it came across to you, I apologise.  You may well know the ups & downs of swopping kit over, but like me at the beginning, did not. I was just trying to be helpful  :y

Why?

Just because they say Recaro on them?   ???
